impressive little plant from South-East Asia. the plant mimics a small palm tree and is an amazing addition to any terrarium. Ones the plant gets large enough it flowers regularly and produces lots of seeds. the name sensitivum refers to the “sensitive” nature of the plant. If the plant is touched the leafs will slowly fold together.

Care

Difficulty: easy

Light: Half shadow/ bright light

Humidity: 60-90%

Temperature: Never below 15°C at night and at least 21°C during the day. Prolonged exposure to temperatures above 30°C can have bad effects on the plant.

Water/Fertilizer: This plant likes a constant moist soil, but not wet. When the soil dries out, leaves tend to yellow and wilt. fertilize lightly ones in a while to support the plant in growing and blooming.
